About Teluk Bahang Dam
The Teluk Bahang Dam is the largest dam and reservoir on Penang Island, located in the verdant, hilly landscape of the island's northwestern corner. It is a critical piece of infrastructure, playing a vital role in the water supply for the entire island. Beyond its utilitarian function, the dam has also become a major scenic and recreational landmark. The sheer scale of the dam and the vast, tranquil expanse of the reservoir it holds are an impressive sight.
A road runs along the top of the dam's embankment, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the water on one side and the Teluk Bahang valley on the other. The area is a popular spot for locals for jogging, cycling, and sightseeing, providing a peaceful and beautiful environment for outdoor activities.
