About Street Art - “Hoola Hoop Basketball”
This mural, officially titled "Kids on a Bicycle," is one of the most famous and interactive pieces of street art in George Town, created by the Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic for the 2012 George Town Festival. Located on Armenian Street, the large-scale mural depicts two smiling children, a boy and a girl, riding a real, old bicycle that is physically mounted against the wall. The artwork beautifully captures a sense of youthful joy and freedom, and its clever blend of a painted image with a physical object invites passersby to interact with it, making it one of the most photographed spots in the city. The mural has become an iconic symbol of George Town's vibrant street art scene and has played a significant role in the revitalization and popularity of the historic core of the city.
