About Setia SPICE Aquatic Centre
Setia SPICE Aquatic Centre is a state-of-the-art indoor aquatic facility located in Bayan Lepas. Originally built as part of the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) for the 2000 Sukma Games, it was later redeveloped by S P Setia and reopened in 2016.[12] It is one of the few public-accessible Olympic-size swimming facilities in Penang.
The centerpiece of the center is its 50-meter Olympic-size swimming pool, which utilizes saltwater treatment instead of high-concentration chlorine. The facility also includes a dedicated diving pool with multiple platform tiers (1m, 3m, and 5m), a large children’s splash pool with water play features, and a leisure pool with wave machines and water jets. The building is environmentally friendly, featuring a large rooftop solar photovoltaic system that generates electricity for the complex.
Beyond water activities, the center houses a gymnasium, a sports clinic, dance studios, and courts for badminton and squash.[13] It serves as a training ground for state athletes and offers various public programs, including a swimming school and scuba diving classes. The facility is fully air-conditioned and designed to meet international standards for hosting competitive sporting events.
