About Sakura Tree

This "Sakura Tree" in Balik Pulau does not refer to a genuine cherry blossom tree, which does not grow in Malaysia's tropical climate. Instead, it refers to the beautiful Tecoma trees (also known as "tissue paper trees") that, when they bloom, produce a spectacular profusion of pink and white flowers that closely resemble the famous cherry blossoms of Japan. During their brief but stunning blooming season, these trees transform the landscape of Balik Pulau into a sea of pink, attracting many visitors and photographers who come to capture the beautiful and romantic scene. This "Malaysian Sakura" phenomenon is a celebrated natural event in the area.
