About Penang Hill Bat Cave Trail
The Penang Hill Bat Cave Trail is an alternative hiking route that begins near the Penang Hill Lower Station in Air Itam. The first half of the trail bypasses some of the Heritage Trail's stairs by looping through a natural cave.
The cave is home to a small temple dedicated to the Chinese deity Kuan Yin and a population of resident bats. After passing the cave, the trail eventually merges back with the main Heritage Trail that leads to the summit, providing a mix of cultural and natural interest.
