Nan Shan Hiking Trail

The Nan Shan Hiking Trail, also known as Fortress Hill (Pao Tai Shan), is a popular route located in the Paya Terubong area of Penang. The trail mostly follows a paved road that winds through local vegetable farms and agricultural plots, making it a favorite for both hikers and mountain bikers.

Reaching the summit typically takes between 1.5 to 2 hours, where hikers are rewarded with a panoramic 360-degree view of Penang Island, including the coastline and George Town. Notable features along the route and at the peak include a small man-made lake and a cultivated flower garden reminiscent of those found in the Cameron Highlands.
