About Monkey Beach

Monkey Beach, officially known as Teluk Duyung, is one of the most popular destinations within the Penang National Park. It is located on the northwestern coast and is named after the long-tailed macaques that are frequently seen in the area. The beach features a long stretch of white sand and relatively calm waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation.

The beach is accessible via a boat ride from Teluk Bahang or a 3.5-kilometer hiking trail that winds along the coast. It is a popular site for day trips, with some basic facilities such as small kiosks and areas for beach barbecues. Monkey Beach serves as a major highlight for visitors to the national park, offering a combination of wildlife viewing and coastal leisure.
