About Light House
The Muka Head Lighthouse, a historic lighthouse located at the northwestern tip of Penang Island, within the boundaries of the Penang National Park. Perched on a steep hill, reaching the lighthouse is a rewarding challenge that requires a strenuous hike up a long flight of steps from the beach at Teluk Duyung (Monkey Beach). The lighthouse was built by the British in 1883, guiding ships in the northern Straits of Malacca.
Unfortunately, visitors are no longer allowed to climb up the lighthouse.
