KOMTAR Tower

KOMTAR (Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak) is Penang's most iconic landmark and its tallest skyscraper, located in the heart of George Town. Completed in 1986, the 65-storey tower serves as the administrative center for the Penang state government. It is also a major commercial and transportation hub, housing numerous government offices, retail outlets, and a central bus terminal.

The lower levels of the complex function as a shopping mall with a focus on electronics, fashion, and local services. In recent years, the tower has undergone significant revitalization, including the addition of "The TOP," an indoor theme park and observation deck. The tower remains a central point of urban life in George Town, connecting various parts of the city through its integrated skywalks and transit facilities.
