Esplanade Walkway

The Esplanade Walkway is a beautiful and historic seaside promenade in the heart of George Town. It stretches along the northern coastline of the city, fronting the large field known as the Padang. The walkway is flanked by some of Penang's most important colonial-era landmarks, including the magnificent City Hall and Town Hall on one side, and the historic Fort Cornwallis on the other. A stroll along the Esplanade Walkway offers stunning views of the sea, as well as a palpable sense of the city's colonial history.

The area has been recently upgraded with a new sea wall and an expanded walkway, making it even more popular for leisurely strolls, jogging, and recreation. It is also adjacent to a popular food court, making it a perfect place to enjoy an evening walk after a delicious local dinner.
