About Floating Mosque

The Penang Floating Mosque, officially named Masjid Terapung Tanjung Bungah, is a beautiful and serene mosque and a prominent landmark in Tanjung Bungah. Although it is called a floating mosque, it is actually built on stilts over the sea, which creates a stunning illusion of it floating on the water, especially during high tide. The mosque's design blends local and Middle Eastern architectural influences and is particularly beautiful during sunrise and sunset, when the changing colors of the sky are reflected on the water around it. The mosque is an active place of worship for the local Muslim community.
