If you’re tired of cafés that exist mainly to look good on Instagram, The Hillside Café Bar & Restaurant in Tanjung Bungah is a refreshing change of pace. This long-running neighbourhood bistro does the comforting stuff properly: full English breakfasts, homemade burgers, wood-fired pizza, fish and chips, pasta and a Sunday roast pork that deserves special attention.
It isn’t pretending to be fine dining, and that’s exactly why it works. Come hungry, expect generous portions, don’t panic about the broad menu, and save a little room for the tiramisu. The Hillside is less of a “must-post” destination and more of a place you can actually imagine becoming a regular.
